Egil Herland holds a Master of Technology degree in applied physics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Subsequently, he also earned a PhD degree in Theoretical Physics from the same university. His PhD research addressed effective models of low-temperature multicomponent superfluids and superconductors. These models were studied by the means of large-scale Monte Carlo simulations on supercomputers. In this way, one can obtain understanding of the thermodynamics and the phases and phase transitions that are characteristic for these systems.
Through the education and research, Egil has an obtained detailed knowledge and understanding of many-particle systems, computational physics and programming. He started working for Teknova in January 2013.
Egil is working at Teknovas location in Grimstad.
